First, let me thank you for your continued relationship with EnQii. This, our first EnQii newsletter, is intended to provide EnQii’s customers and the wider digital out-of-home community with our thoughts on what’s hot in digital media right now, as well as sharing best practice, insight and news updates. In this edition, some of the key industry topics we cover are: security in digital signage technology and the convergence of the cellphone and digital media at retail. This issue also highlights our President of EMEA, James Abdool.

So far, 2008 has been a very exciting year for EnQii. Riding on last year’s success, we expanded our global operation by opening two new offices in Dubai and Shanghai, to show our strong commitment to two of the fastest growing territories in the digital out-of-home space – China and the Middle East. We participated in some major industry events aimed at driving learning, adoption and return for network owners and have published various white papers on these topics on our website. We were also very pleased to receive the 2008 DIGI Award in the Healthcare – Excellence in Technology category, for the services we provided to the Wellness Health Education Network.

Digital Signage, or Digital out-of-Home (“DooH”) technology is becoming ubiquitous. The old way of communicating with customers out of their home environment, using paper posters sent around the country, is no longer very useful: these posters are static; they do not always arrive; they are costly to send; they are hard and costly to change; they are environmentally unfriendly, and they offer limited flexibility in terms of “narrowcasting”.

EnQii has won a 2008 DIGI Award, which honors excellence in the digital signage industry. EnQii was honored for outstanding technology in healthcare for the Wellness Health Education Network – or WHEN.

Designed by EnQii, the screens employ a "Message Manager" system that enables local employees to create and post customized messages quickly and easily, maximizing the relevance of the content.
