With unexpected items like a bed that opens like a car’s hood, a table that rises on legs like an ironing board or a simple footrest that conceals a storage compartment, DoMA’s CEO David King says that his business is designed to “appeal to the city’s changing marketplace of condos and refurbished bungalows.” In fact, his mantra is that while “we may have to be space-conscious, it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice design.”

For those living in the southwest in New Mexico, the Continuing Education department serves as the center for lifelong learning by providing innovative educational, training and personal enrichment opportunities for students, businesses, and community partners. For more than 80 years, Continuing Education has played a major role in community service and outreach for UNM, with a focus on economic and workforce development.

Julie Arnsdorf launched her self-named agency well over 20 years ago after drawing on her experience at Minneapolis’ largest ad agency. Julie reports that as a marketing agency, J. Arnsdorf & Company specializes in print and email newsletter production, content marketing, social media marketing, promotions, and collateral materials, especially for the financial industry.
She says, “We have a passion for these areas. We want to tell our clients’ stories in simple, coherent terms that their customers or clients can understand. So many newsletters are either superficial or on the opposite end of the spectrum, too full of jargon. Neither approach benefits the reader or the business producing those newsletters.” Read the full article…
St. Petersburg Free Clinic was founded in May, 1970 by Warner “Butch” Anderson, a senior psychology major at the University of South Florida, and his friend, Dr. Linda Shaffer, who practiced at Mound Park Hospital. They were concerned that thousands of people in the area were not receiving adequate medical care. The public clinics that cared for the poor had been closed and while Medicare and Medicaid were designed to help the needy, many physicians in St. Petersburg refused to participate, citing the red tape involved and the low payments they received. Mr. Anderson and Dr. Shaffer were also concerned with the explosion of illegal drugs being sold on the streets of the city and the failure or inability of government agencies and the medical community to recognize the problem and respond to it.

Ellen Ecker Ogden is a food and garden writer and has published three cookbooks. In 2007, she started to offer private kitchen garden design to home cooks and chefs, as well as give workshops to share ideas for beautiful food gardens. Her newest book, The Complete Kitchen Garden, was published in spring 2011 featuring 14 theme gardens with recipes. She reveals that her goal is “to inspire gardeners to grow ornamental edibles and to plant seeds that will nurture a lifestyle and cook healthy food. My company is built on a passion for good food and garden design, and I hope to encourage and share ideas with other gardeners.” While her focus is on edible gardens, the garden designs are based on classic European style potager gardens that go back to the early 14th century.
