This is not your dad’s furniture store – oh, no! With unexpected items like a bed that opens like a car’s hood, a table that rises on legs like an ironing board or a simple footrest that conceals a storage compartment, DoMA’s CEO David King says that his business is designed to “appeal to the city’s changing marketplace of condos and refurbished bungalows.” In fact, his mantra is that while “we may have to be space-conscious, it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice design.”
DoMA Home Furnishings began as a mission by CEO, David King who dreamed of one day owning a company in the design & furnishings business. David wanted to realize this feat before his 40th birthday. After years in the “corporate” life, the then 38 year old King took a leap of faith and purchased a small local company by the name of American Closet and Office Systems. In 3 short years, the St. Petersburg, Florida based company witnessed a 300 percent revenue increase. How does he do it?
Easy. David reports that his success revolves around “my customers referring our business to a family member or friend. My repeat customers bring me such personal satisfaction when we can exceed their expectations and bring joy to their everyday life.”
David takes pride in all aspects of business DoMA takes a part of. This includes the way they reach out to the community through the arts. Through the support of local artists, works are showcased in their showrooms. In addition, the company participates in several charity events with the Pepin Heart Hospital, All Children’s, Vincent DePaul, CASA and more.
“There are many choices that people didn’t know were out there. Please, come visit us!”‘
